Images Of Malayali Showing Brest

After landing hard enough we do a short tour in Kamari us to relax a bit despite the late hour.

The next day we leave by bus from Kamari (where our hotel) and go towards the capital of Fira and Santorini, so to see for the first time the caldera.

Upon arrival at the edge of the caldera we are dazzled by this spectacular site.
We decided to descend directly to the small port of Fira on foot, there are about 600 steps, 260 vertical meters (three solutions descend on foot, with the gondola or horse).

the port, there are a few restaurants, bars and some shops, but the price of shops on the edge of the caldera is much higher than the rest of the island.

After a nice lunch, we ascend on horseback (5 € discussing the rise but we paid 4 €). We laughed a lot during this climb, wavered between the horses on site and canter and gallop on the brink is not very reassuring.

For today we planned to go to Cape Tourlos along the caldera and through the villages of Firostefani Imerovigli and then back to Fira.

On this first day on Santorini, we walked ten miles.
The sun was a little cloudy in the late afternoon, but it was 24 °

For this trip, do not hesitate to get lost in all those stairs (even if sometimes we must make a U turn) because there is always something special to see.

The next day, as we return to Fira bus lines are arranged in a star and go to all points of the island must necessarily go through the capital.
From the Central Station bus takes us to Akrotiri in the south of the island.
At Akrotiri, there is a prehistoric site dating from AD 1642av, but has been closed since 2005 following a fatal accident.

After buying fruit at a street vendor, we headed to the Red
Beach This beach is aptly named because the sand and the cliffs are actually red foncé.Nous had lunch on the beach after taking a bath this which surprised other tourists who have taken pictures, but the water should be around 18 ° which is not bad for the Britons. When you're on the beach, we can only hope that there is no landslide at that time.

We leave by roads and across fields towards the cape of Akrotiri.
Even in the most remote places, we find churches in superb condition.
caves dug into the pumice remind us that this material is insulating properties annually exported in large quantities. It was widely used for construction of the canal Suez.l thick layer of pumice can reach 40 meters high.

We also discover the vineyards of Santorini, much of which grows on the floor in circles. The volcanic island of Santorini has never suffered the ravages of phylloxéra.les vines are planted directly in the ground without a transplant.

A little fresh air near the caldera is welcome. At the lighthouse we Akrotiri on the southern tip of the island and it segregates the crescent shape of Santorini.

On the way back we made a detour to go for a swim at the beach Pigadia Mesa and see the cave houses (varkadies). the locals will pick up their boats in the winter and come to rest at heyday. A motorist Greek

we then proposed to take us back to Kamari, what we have agreed the day was tiring with the fifteen kilometers traveled and two baths. A very nice return, thank you to him and his English friend.

Today, bright sunshine and about 30 degrees, slide forward.

Little Tikes Rocking Cow - How To Clean

Santorini Santorini

Today is the big day, the hike as expected, the one to go from Fira Ioa up along the caldera. A walk of 12 miles, I hope we will not be disappointed.

As usual we reach Fira and then we head to Ioa trying to find other ways than the first day.

The path is not too difficult except in some places where there have been landslides. By
cons during the summer I think it should be much more painful because of the heat.

landscapes are beautiful and again the sun is present, the temperature around 30 degrees.

reached our goal, we had lunch at a little place where were two magnificent churches and then began a visit to this village, no need to comment the images alone can explain the beauty of Ioa.

We had planned to stay on Ioa to attend one of the most beautiful sunset one can see, but after our walk and after having walked the village for three hours we took the bus to the hotel for a well deserved bath in the pool.

As expected it was beautiful, this hike is required to do when you come to Santorini. We've put about 20 km

Wedding Guestbook Introduction

Santorini May 16, 2008 May 17, 2008 May 17, 2008

the agenda of the visit Pyrgos, the climb to the summit of Mount Prophet Elias Monastery where the next visit of the Ancient Thira, then down to Kamari.

We take the bus to Pyrgos Pyrgos
, located at the foot of Mount Prophet Elias (Ilias), is a fortified village called Kastro, the only Santorini have kept its medieval character. After entering the Kastro and made our ride on the roofs, we begin the ascent of Mount Profitis Ilias.

The monastery is located atop the outside and behind is extraordinary buildings and numerous military antennas that disfigures the site so we're looking to continue our journey to the ancient Thira Greek but a guide we recommend strongly to continue our route as too dangerous and that anyway the site of Thira is closed in the afternoon.
Slightly disappointed, we take our lunch at the summit of Mount before descending as the view from the island is beautiful.
We console ourselves by telling us that we will see the church of Exo Gonia closely, which was not possible with the original trail.
Today we made fifteen miles under a bright sun and a temperature of 30 °.

Good show.

Harem/ecchi Anime 2010

Today no great works because we took a trip this time on a boat to visit the caldera with the ascent of the volcano, then the direction of Cape Akrotiri (where we were the second day), then heading to the island of Thirasia, the second inhabited island of Santorini.

Access to the volcano is paying € 2, his name is Nea Kameni, which means "new burnt island", her height is more or less than 127 m along the magmatic pressure.
the central crater was created in 1940 by two large hydrothermal eruptions, but since the last eruption in 1950, the volcano has remained quiet. The only indications of the existence of molten rock to a depth of several kilometers are the hot springs and hot gases.
On a picture you can guess the gas coming out. I was surprised by the smell of powder that came from these fumaroles.
The biggest risk is not from Santorini eruption of the volcano but earthquakes, the 1956 had fifty people and destroyed over 2,000 houses on the island.

After a quick stop at the volcano first Palea Kameni because there is a hot spring or good swimmers can go for a swim

Thirasia, 5.7 km long and 2.7 km wide, about 250 people live on this island, they are largely peasants who grow grapes, barley and seed beans or tomatoes.
We stayed two hours Thirasia, just long enough to afford a nice restaurant (restaurant Cadouni) and then take a bath. A tip for taking a bath alone, going through the port or there is a small church, but watch out for hundreds urchin.
can climb to the village but the boats do not stay long enough in port should be avoided if you are like us on this excursion.

The boat then takes us to the foot of the cliffs of the caldera that we pass to the port of Ioa Athinios.

Fantastic day, a cruise also must make when you come to Santorini, we had a temperature around 30 degrees, a sea of oil and lots of luck because the next day there was a gale force wind.

good show.

Santorini and its history

Santorini (Greek Σαντορίνη) or Thira or Thera (Θήρα) is a small archipelago of volcanic islands located in the Aegean Sea 75 km south-east of mainland Greece. Santorini / Thira is also the name of the main island. Thirasia the second inhabited island, is located in front of it. The part is formed by active volcanic island of Nea Kameni in the center of the caldera flooded by the sea

is the southernmost member of the group of Cyclades islands, covering an area of 76 square kilometers and a population estimated 10 700 inhabitants in 2001. The inhabitants of Santorini were of various nationalities, Albanian, Greek, Bulgarian, German etc.., The majority of indigenous who migrated to the mainland because of the last volcanic eruption and misery that follows. An international community was formed during the last 20 years and English is gaining ground as a spoken language at the same level as the Greek.

is the island of Santorini that was unearthed in 1970 the frescoes of Akrotiri, witnessed a very advanced civilization Cycladic back in the second millennium BC. Significant collections of ceramics were also identified in the excavation field. These works of art were spared by a volcanic cataclysm, which ravaged the island, and buried under ash and pumice.

The name Santorini was given to him by the Venetians in the thirteenth century in reference to Saint Irene, the Aghia Irini that foreign seafarers called "Santa Irini". This name was retained and evolved into "Santo Rini" and Santorini. "Previously it was called Strongyle (La Ronde), Kallisti (the beautiful) and Thera (Thira), because of Thera, son of Antesionas, Theban hero and grand-son of Cadmus. After the annexation of the island to Greece in 1840, officially took over the island the ancient name of Thera in Santorini, but the name is always used.

The exact date of the volcanic eruption provides a reference point to calibrate the entire chronology of the second millennium BC. BC in the Aegean world, because its effects are found throughout the region. With the carbon-14 dating and other radiological methods and dendrochronological, currently estimated that it took place between 1650 and 1598 BC or, according to other sources, around 1645 BC. AD, with a margin of error of plus or minus 20 years.

After a series of earthquake precursors powerful enough to frighten the population and encourage them to evacuate the island (the archaeologists found themselves almost no body and no valuables), the eruption caused a large tsunami 60 meters high in places that devastated the north coast of Crete, a distance of 70 km and certainly that destroyed much of the Minoan fleet.

The physiognomy of the island was profoundly changed following the collapse of much of the volcanic cone off a caldera about 15 km and the fallout of volcanic ash buried Akrotiri, sterilizing the soil of the island many years and causing the end of the company that had grown on Santorini.

Marinatos and many scholars following him saw in the Santorini cataclysm occurred in the event that inspired Plato for his parable about the disappearance of Atlantis. Marinatos also suggested that the volcanic eruption and its aftermath were the cause of the disappearance of the Minoan civilization on Crete, which is partially undermined by the fact that a number of Minoan sites which were situated on the southern Crete were spared by the tsunami.
